Moon 04:27
When I was a girl I left home looking for the sea I found that home was wherever the stars could be Found myself in the strange desert of Los Angeles Wandering cold and vacant beneath the trees Where are you, Moon? I can’t see you now. Why aren’t you shining for me? I’m out on my own The Sun has gone home I’ve got no place to be. Where are you, Moon? I can’t see you now. Why aren’t you shining for me? I’m out on my own The Sun has gone home I’ve got no place to be. Took a chance and left my name and number for you. What a fool to think that one is as good as two. Chorus Bridge Under the overpass, Crying out: How long will this last? How will I make it here? Without the sound of your Morning song in my ear? Chorus I’ve got no place to be I’ve got no place to be

I Don't Have 04:12
I don’t have a lover I don’t have a man I don’t have a dog to walk I don’t have a plan I can’t close my eyes I can’t open them I can’t read or write I can’t begin I can’t read or write I can’t begin Bridge I am not a woman I am not a man I am just a human Living on this land I am just a human Living on this land

Everyday the same thing Wake up, work, and sing I transformed long ago into someone I now know Not as simple as it seems My Previous Life The one I choose to leave behind I give my heart and hand To your understanding All I’ve got is time. Grace and inquiry precede A whole community of sisters Potatoes, apples and pear trees Working the Earth on your knees A simple task is not a lot to ask When you do it with your heart Believe me now You’re gonna feel the power From the very start My Previous Life The one I choose to leave behind I give my heart and hand To your understanding All I’ve got is time. My Previous Life The one I choose to leave behind I give my heart and hand To your understanding All I’ve got is time. My Previous Life The one I choose to leave behind I give my heart and hand To your understanding All I’ve got is time. __ This song is inspired by the community of nuns at Abbey Regina Laudis in Bethlehem, CT.

about

“Back in 2014, I found a busted vintage Autoharp at an antique store in Joshua Tree, CA - a mysterious silver lining during an otherwise botched trip. These songs arrived over an ingestion period of several years. Each one was made material by an experience of a change in geographical place - a transfer and transition between worlds and lives.

I doubt that this project would’ve happened if my daily life hadn’t been brought to a screeching halt by COVID-19. Unemployed and stripped of all my routines and capitalistic worth, facing death on a massive scale, it begged the question, “what is my purpose?” Why do I continue to participate in the same way, in a system that continues to fail so many less privileged than I, with no questions asked?

Here’s to the dark chasms of great changes to help steer us toward our natural paths as individuals and as communities. We are agents of change, our feet on the ground and our voices echoing in the streets. Our streets.

One million thank you's to Kevin, my Cali bro, and thank you to everyone who has ever given me encouragement, whether ounce or gallon.”
